King of the Hills
Western Australia

King of the Hills in the Mount Margaret Goldfield, located near Lake Darlot  which is approx 77km north of Leonora.
David Carnegie explorer and prospector who published his diaries in the book Spinifex and Sand  arrived at Darlot and almost immediately found a rich piece of ground. Initially the area was called Carnegie's Lease but later called The King of the Hills before it was sold to Bewick Moreing Mining Co. Most of the gold and money from the sale of the lease was used by Carnegie to finance the great exploration trips detailed in his book.
